About this grant

The Barr Family Grants support small FIRST in Alabama FLL and FTC teams in years 1-3 of operation, with a focus on promoting women in engineering. Teams must have at least 4 members with 25% girls and demonstrate active recruitment of new girls. Eligible uses include registration fees, parts, supplies, tools, transportation, and taxes. Teams must be registered with FIRST, associated with a school or community-based group (not individuals), and have both lead coaches successfully screened. Grants are first-come, first-served and limited per group. Applications are reviewed and funds released within 20 days of approval. Teams can apply only once per season and cannot share resources across multiple team numbers.
