About this grant

The Vermont Community Action Teams (CATs) are employee groups at Ben & Jerry's three Vermont facilities that distribute small grants to local, community-based Vermont nonprofits and municipal schools or municipalities. Applicants must be 501(c)(3) organizations, have a fiscal agent with 501(c)(3) status, or be a municipal school or municipality, and must be located in Vermont. The program prioritizes organizations serving underserved populations, addressing basic human needs, improving access to housing, food, health care, or childcare, with strong volunteer bases and community support. The program does not fund individuals, scholarship programs, organizations outside Vermont, statewide programs, businesses, other foundations, religious organizations (except those with broad community outreach), national organizations, discretionary or emergency requests, or programs benefiting Ben & Jerry's employees. Applications are submitted online and reviewed monthly through November 16, 2026.
