K-12 schools within 75 miles of specified communities can apply for grants up to $5,000 to fund STEM resources, equipment, technology, and educator professional development.

About this grant

The Burns & McDonnell Foundation funds STEM initiatives including robotics and coding programs (LEGO, FIRST, VEX), STEM labs with equipment like 3D printers and AR/VR headsets, life sciences resources, and educator professional development such as conference registration. Grants do not fund personal-use devices, one-time events, field trips, salaries, transportation, scholarships, or consumables. Applicants must be K-12 school staff members from schools within 75 miles of eligible communities. Grants are awarded up to $5,000 per applicant and must be used within the upcoming academic year. Recipients of equipment/resource grants must submit two impact updates during the following year; professional development grant recipients submit one.
