About this grant
The Community Building Grant Program funds general support for flexible organizational funding and project grants for new initiatives. General support requires organizations to be Maine-based with expenses below $500,000 and excludes municipalities, government agencies, public schools, and faith-based organizations. Project grants are available to all organization types including government agencies and faith-based organizations, with expenses at or above $500,000, and project budgets not exceeding $100,000. Eligible expenses for projects exclude endowments, annual appeals, and scholarships. Applications are submitted online through a Salesforce portal, reviewed by staff for eligibility, then assigned to county committees for final decision with notification by June 1. Projects or activities must occur after the grant award.
