About this grant
This annual award supports South Dakota teachers and educators in robotics education. Applicants can either be taking or planning robotics training to start new programs and teams, or currently sustaining robotics programs in their classrooms or schools. First-time applicants and those at schools without existing robotics programs are encouraged to apply. Past winners and educators with existing programs are also eligible. The award is given in memory of Dr. Dan Swets and three others who died in a 2011 plane crash while traveling to support a robotics program. Applications are submitted as PDF or Word documents, reviewed annually, with winners announced each year.
