Honda USA Foundation Programmatic Funding (Pillar Awards)
American Honda Foundation · Funder
Nonprofit organizations and schools in the US can apply for programmatic support and community event sponsorships from Honda and the Honda USA Foundation. Programmatic funding supports high-impact programs aligned with Honda's Pillar Awards (varies by year), while community event sponsorships provide up to $25,000 for qualifying community events in designated counties.
About this grant
Honda offers two main funding types: programmatic support for nonprofits and schools with programs aligned to Pillar Awards (amounts vary by award), and community event sponsorships up to $25,000 for festivals, parades, and similar community celebrations in designated counties. Programmatic funding applications open each fall with decisions in spring; community event sponsorship applications are year-round rolling basis but require submission at least 8 weeks before the event. Applicants must be 501(c)(3) nonprofits, schools, or use a nonprofit fiscal sponsor (501(c)(4) and 501(c)(6) also eligible for event sponsorships only). Organizations must be US-based, cannot discriminate, and cannot support political activities, athletic teams, or religious programs. Programmatic requests must primarily benefit communities where Honda has major operations (specified states). Event sponsorships must take place in Honda's designated counties.
