About this grant
The Kettering/GMI Alumni Association (KGMIAA) funds high school robotics teams in FIRST, VEX and RECF programs, up to $5,000 a team. Teams in any country may apply, and no Kettering or GMI connection is needed. The application asks for a funding plan at $0, $2,500 and $5,000 and a 250-word response written by a student. Semifinalists are interviewed over Microsoft Teams. In the 2026 round, $27,500 was distributed among 55 teams from 16 states.
