Community and school groups and youth-serving nonprofits may apply for grants up to $1,000 to support children- and youth-led projects in northeast Minnesota and Superior, Wisconsin. Applications must be written and driven by young people with adult advisor support.
About this grant
The Youth In Philanthropy Program funds community, school, or organizational projects planned, written, and carried out by young people ages 6-19 with adult advisor support. Eligible projects must take place in Aitkin, Carlton, Cook, Itasca, Koochiching, Lake, and St. Louis counties in Minnesota, or Superior, Wisconsin. Applicants must be youth groups, youth-serving organizations, or school/community clubs associated with a nonprofit or with a fiscal agent. The program does not fund individual support, scholarships, fundraising campaigns, competition expenses, building renovations, or direct support to religious organizations. Applications are submitted as fillable PDFs via email, with deadlines on October 1, January 1, and April 1. The Youth In Philanthropy Board (comprised of 7th-12th grade students) reviews applications and makes funding decisions within approximately 30 days of the deadline.
