Opportunity Fund for Southshire Youth

Vermont Community Foundation · Funder

Organizations in Bennington, North Bennington, Pownal, Shaftsbury, and Woodford can apply for grants to support youth programs that bring young people together, create spaces for connection, and increase inclusion. Awards range from $500 to $10,000.

About this grant

The fund supports dynamic and innovative youth programs with four priority areas: youth-led or youth-focused events and activities that bring youth together (such as themed camps, festivals, or clubs), creation or expansion of spaces where youth can gather and connect, provision of opportunities for youth facing hardships, and programs that encourage belonging and inclusion. The fund considers both small grants ($500-$5,000) and large grants (up to $10,000), with only one large grant awarded per year. Applicants denied for a large grant are automatically considered for a small grant. Proposals can include capital projects, new programs, or program expansions within the guidelines. Applications are submitted online.
