About this grant
SEVACF offers grants to nonprofits and government bodies serving Chesapeake and/or Portsmouth residents. Applicants must first have a preliminary discussion with staff by phone or in person before submitting an online application. The application requires a cover letter signed by an organizational officer, budget summary, 1-2 page proposal narrative, recent financial statements, and board of directors list. Grants do not fund debt reduction, general/administrative expenses, travel, political activity, annual appeals, or capital/endowment building unless matching funds are generated. Optional video presentations (2-3 minutes) may be submitted separately to [email protected].
