Statewide Greatest Needs Grant Program
North Dakota Community Foundation · Funder
501(c)(3) organizations, government agencies, and tribal government agencies in North Dakota can apply for grants up to $5,000 to support community programs and services, with applications submitted annually between June 1 and July 31.
About this grant
This grant program funds diverse community projects serving North Dakota residents, prioritizing organizations with limited access to other funding sources and emphasizing geographic equity across the state. Eligible applicants include 501(c)(3) nonprofits, government agencies, and tribal governments. Churches and religious organizations may apply only for non-sectarian, non-proselytizing programs serving the broad community. Ineligible requests include those involving political activity, sectarian projects, or applications from individuals. The program does not fund multi-year commitments, but applicants may reapply annually. Applications are accepted online through the NDCF Grants Portal during a fixed window (June 1-July 31), with Board review in September and grant distribution in early October.
