Utah STEM Competition Grant

Utah STEM Action Center · Funder

Utah public school educators can apply for grants to support K-12 students in STEM competitions. Awards up to $5,000 per school (maximum $100 per student) cover registration fees, student supplies, and in-state travel for competitions like robotics, science fairs, and coding contests.

About this grant

This grant supports K-12 students in Utah participating in STEM competitions including robotics, science olympiads, engineering fairs, math contests, and coding competitions. Eligible expenses are registration fees for approved competitions, student supplies directly tied to competition requirements, and in-state travel to competition events. The grant does not fund apparel, meals, decoration, teacher stipends, general classroom hardware, or out-of-state competitions (except specific FIRST Robotics Qualifiers in Idaho). Applications open August 1 and close August 31 annually. Awards are reimbursement-based requiring itemized receipts and final reports by May 15. Multiple applications per school are accepted but share a $5,000 per-school cap.
